Photos for Winchester Lambourne

This is a temporary page, thrown up on here because (1) it’s handy and (2) I’m too lazy today to code up a new site just for photos. It’s a pastiche of things so that my new graphic artist can get some feel for a job I’ve requested -  a new logo and stuff for the shop website (ACME Fibres). If you’ve landed here by accident or were just poking around the blog and found it, why don’t you go over and visit her etsy site and see some outstanding work?

Dear Winchester;

Here are a few pictures of things from the shop. These pictures were all taken by me. Click to embiggen them; right-clickable to save. Also, feel free to pull any photos out of the shop itself if none of these are what you had in mind.

Spinning fibres:

Seacell combed top

Tencel combed top

Baby Camel Down

Blue-Faced Leicester Wool combed top

Black Merino Wool combed top

Grey Icelandic Wool combed top

Drop spindles (tools for spinning fibres by hand):

Maple drop spindle

Zebrawood drop spindle

Purplewood support spindle

same spindle, different angle

same group spindle pic as on store main page

Yarns:

Silk/Linen lace yarn

Wool sock yarn

Here’s a bit of spinning I did while I was uploading these photos – not bad for some quick and dirty work! Also gives you some idea of the scale of the size difference between spindles and fibre. This drop spindle is 10″ long.

oh yeah spindling

Here’s a pic of a giant silk moth that landed on my door one night – not actually a “real” silk moth, but it’s incredibly cool.

I hope these pictures are helpful – please let me know if you would like anything different. Or more. Or whatever.

Best,

Cheri
